Criteria

The Professional Excellence categories focus on the professionalism and commitment to service excellence that enables delivery exceptional results to their clients, and brings tangible benefits to the company. The evaluation of entries will be based on the following factors:

Challenge – a clear description of the challenge the work was being asked to address, accompanied by key statistics, which help illustrate the scale of this challenge in detail.

Improvement – the degree to which the entry involved original or improved techniques and structures.

Impact – the degree by which the company, stakeholders, the industry and or community at large is affected.

Criteria

This category focuses on the development and implementation of strategic plans based on the entrant’s external environment and internal capabilities. The plans should address current and future challenges as well as the organization’s mission and vision. The evaluation of entries will be based on the following factors:

Monitoring – the extent to which the strategy developed based on the external environment (e.g. customer feedback, market intelligence, industry trends), internal capabilities (e.g. data on operational performance, quality indicators) and with inputs from stakeholders.

Planning – the degree to which the long- and short-term goals and plans are comprehensive, quantifiable and forward-looking, strategy development process produces an overall business plan, and goes beyond a financial or budget plan.

Results – the degree to which the strategic plan was implemented, and summary of the financial performance, including financial results and economic value, and marketplace performance, including growth and market share, position and acceptance.

Criteria

This section focuses on creating the culture, values and overall direction for lasting success. Developing an approach to excellence involves a transformation in management thinking and behaviour, at all levels. This can only be achieved by the active involvement of senior management in establishing unity of purpose and direction and to facilitate, reinforce, communicate and support the changes necessary for improvement. The evaluation of entries will be based on the following factors:

Vision – the degree, to which the entrant contributed to the development of the mission and vision, reinforcing the values, culture, and ethics.

Engagement – the degree of personal involvement in communicating and engaging the key stakeholders (e.g. customers, shareholders, employees, suppliers, and partners) and the community to drive the performance.

Improvement – the degree of entrant’s contribution to the achievement of strategic goals through innovation and development of the business, employees, industry or community.

Motivation – the degree to which entrant acts as a role model, motivates, recognizes and contributes to the betterment of the company, people, business, industry and community.

Third-party recognition – any evidence of recognition given by any award-giving organization, public or private entity, clients, partners etc.

Entries in this category should focus on how the organisation understands its market and customer requirements, predicts future trends to build lasting relationships with customers and create superior customer experiences. The evaluation of entries will be based on the following factors:

Requirements- the degree, to which current and future requirements of the customers and market are assessed, incorporated into the strategic plans.

Improvement – the degree to which the requirements and expectations of customers were addressed and used in development and implementation of the improvement plans.

Impact – the degree of impact on the customer loyalty and customer experience.

Support – the degree to which measures are taken to provide assistance and information to enhance the customer experience, customer feedback is resolved and analysed to drive improvements.

Criteria

The Innovation Excellence category focuses on the management of key and support processes to achieve the strategic goals. Entrant shall demonstrate a systematic approach to gather, evaluate, and implement innovative ideas for products, services and related processes to create value or analyse root causes, take prompt corrective action and prevent future re-occurrence when a process fails to meet specified standards or targets. The evaluation of entries will be based on the following factors:

Capabilities- a degree to which the entrant seeks breakthrough improvements in key processes by gathering, evaluating and implementing innovative ideas while managing financial, reputational or other risks.

Significance – the degree to which innovative ideas and solutions were applied to meet specified standards or targets, improve quality, performance speed or reduce costs.

Impact – the degree to which innovation generated value for customers and other stakeholders. Relevant indicators on productivity, efficiency and process performance shall be provided.
